Another year, another chance to tell amazing stories. When we first started this company in 2020, we began with a simple question: “what’s missing from your table today?”
There are many answers to that question, but the themes that struck us most of all were universal: easier play & creation, more diverse stories, new games, and of course wonderful people to play them with. We’ve come a long way in 3 years, and we still have a long way to go. We’re proud to say Role truly is becoming the platform we envisioned: one that makes TTRPG play easy, creation accessible, and the entire genre more expressive and colorful.
Last year we launched a host of improvements to our play experience, our first original game [ CHROME ], a marketplace for game creators, and a new Creators Program that provides everyone a clear and easy path to publishing their work on Role.
We’re carrying that momentum with us into 2023, with a long list of incoming projects including a brand-new marketplace dashboard, full mobile game room support, whiteboarding & maps overhaul, dice upgrades, audio, and much more.
None of this would be possible without the dedication and passion of our many story players and game creators. We’re here because of you, so from the bottom of our hearts: thank you for being here with us.
New Release: Broken Tales
From The World Anvil, a fresh new take on twisted fairy tales launches on Role!
Broken Tales is a tabletop RPG of dark stories, reinterpreting fairytales from an upside-down perspective. Players will become part of the Order, a secret group operating on behalf of the Papacy to investigate supernatural events beyond human comprehension. Moving through an 18th century Europe imbued with mysticism and horror, the main characters of Broken Tales are nothing less than the former antagonists of fairytales, thrown into a new world resulting from the wish of the Child Savior.
