“Hello Role Players, and welcome to the Weekly Encounter newsletter!

This week we’re thinking about makers: game creators, writers, artists, and more. At Role, we believe every person is a creative force, and that RPGs are an inherently collaborative experience of content creation with community. Every character you create, adventure you experience, and story you tell is an act of making something new. That’s the joy of role playing! Whether you’re just getting started imagining your first character, or getting ready to dive into designing your own game – we’re highlighting resources this week that put creation front-and-center.

 You can play with us!”

Play

Root: The Roleplaying Game is a Board Game IP turned TTRPG in which you play painfully relatable woodland creatures who fight for money, justice, and freedom from power far greater than them. Outcast from normal society, these Vagabonds live in the space between taking on jobs no one else can or will do. You choose who you serve if anyone… but everyone knows you may tip the balance of the war should you choose to get your paws dirty.

Making your own TTRPG can be intimidating but with all of the community fundraising campaigns going around lately, it’s hard to avoid thinking about making your own. The How to be a Great GM Youtube Channel is here to help with their video: 7 Things You Should Know When Making Your Own TTRPG.
Role is built to make home brewing or even making your very own games on the platform easier than ever. With our Creator tools, you can make any game you like and if you want to get started, this video is an excellent place to start.
