Hello Role Players
We’ve been thrilled to see the community take so quickly to our latest big feature push, where we released a full redesign of our sheets & templates! Not only did we redesign our Template Creator and the look of our sheets, but we also added many heavily requested features from our early access creators. In October we made sure to spend additional time polishing everything up and squashing bugs. Here are some of the things we added this past month:
- The ability for clocks and slots to be edited while at the table. Now players can customize how many slices are in their sheet’s clocks or how many slots they have available.
- When multiple people are viewing a shared sheet at a table, we highlight an element if someone is editing it. This way you can always tell before making your own changes to a shared sheet.
- We added the ability to clone a group while creating a template. This will clone the group and all elements and links within it.
- We made some performance updates to our sheets and templates, with more improvements to come.
These are just some of the highlights! We also made several quality of life updates and fixed several bugs. Thank you all for the feedback as you dove in! You can read the full set of changes from the last month in our changelog.

Role’s Newest Team Member
We are excited to welcome Lyndsay to the Role team! She joins us to help push our design efforts forward in creating the most intuitive and fun experience for RPGs online.
Raised in upstate NY, Lyndsay fell in love with art the first day she could hold a crayon. Always a sucker for a good story, her passion for books, series, and movies drove her to illustrate her own stories and games with her cousins at a young age. Armed with a creative eye, she moved to NYC and launched herself into a career of multidisciplinary design, including UX, UI, graphic, and branding. She most notably worked on streaming platforms Littlstar & Rad across PlayStation, PSVR, Oculus, AndroidTV & iOS mobile, as well as the peer-to-peer file sharing platform Ara. When not on a computer, Lyndsay enjoys smushing around oil paint, exploring the city, and sharing her love of cooking with friends and family.
What’s Next?
As we round out 2021 we’ve got some fun changes coming over the next couple of months. Our Dashboard is about to get some love to make it easier to understand the different tables, sheets, and assets you have in your account. We are also cooking up a new way to jump right into a game on Role. Look out for these changes coming over the next couple of months!
Thank you always. You can play with us.
